It was finished, Craven was dead. He could take complete control of the Elite now, no one was left to stand against him. He'd already started taking care of anyone that was loyal to Craven and not him. The only one who would give him trouble was Null. If he could get rid of him he would be able to silence anyone who would challenge him.
It wouldn't be difficult. All he had to do was stay out of arm's reach. He couldn't touch what he couldn't see. How could he get him into the maze though? Once he was in there he could ensure that no one stepped in and helped.
. . .
Null stood in his room, his hooded face and body covered the fury on his face. Craven was dead... supposedly, but even if he was alive, Alec would use the opportunity to seize control of the Elite. And Eliminate everyone that wasn't on his 'list'. However, Alec wanted him out of the way as well. And Alec sevearly underestimated his abilities, something that would work to the cloaked man's advantage.
He'd managed to keep Alec from killing anyone as of yet. He knew if Alec took full control of the Elite, he'd kill anyone and everyone that stood against him. He didn't want to do it to him, he no longer found enjoyment in ending the life of someone else. He would do it, his body needed the kill, it was ingrained in his personality. In what was left of his soul. However, he found no enjoyment in it like he once had.
Alec's defeat, and probable death would prevent the deaths of other Elite that would attempt to stand against him when he attempted to take control. He left the sleeping form of Ivory on his unused bed. He'd been an insomniac for seventeen years now. He quickly left the room and went to the living area, where Alec was talking with the rest of the Elite about Craven's unfortunate demise.
He didn't have time to waste. Ivory was two weeks pregnant now, which was about two months for her. If he waited, Alec would use it against him when others found out about their relationship.
"... death," Alec said. "I will be taking full control of the Elite. Unless, one of you would like to challenge me for control?" There were one or two gulps that he heard from the crowd, but otherwise there was silence. There was only one of Craven's little flunkies that would stand against him, and that was the one he wanted to challenge, it wouldn't be to difficult.
"I would challenge you, Alec. Craven wanted me to take control of the Elite. Not you," Null said. He knew what Alec would do next. He would challenge him to the Maze, where he would attempt to kill him. He had something on his side though. The thing that had haunted Alec's nightmares for years. He heard a few people that had gulped sigh, and a couple of people whispering silent thanks.
Alec grinned, he was playing right into his hand. "I don't think so Null. I don't think you're fit to lead. We'll decide it in the Maze. And this won't be a Craven fight. No pulled punches, no mercy. We'll stay there until you're... I mean, one of us is dead."
He wasn't usually quite so 'hands on' when it came to this sort of thing. But, if he had someone else do this, it wouldn't be him that was respected and feared. He needed to dirty his own hands this time.
"Whatever you say Alec."
. . .
An hour later, they were both in the Maze. Null easily navigated to the center. Alec was moving cautiously toward the center as well, being careful to examine for Null before moving around. One wrong move and he was dead with a touch. Null was standing in the exact center of the maze, mentally tracking Alec's progress. It wouldn't take long. He had an old knife with him. One he hadn't touched since before he went to prison.
Alec had a gun. He was going to give it a show, prove to everyone he was better, and then end it. Null was larger, but Alec was better. At least in his own mind. He took a step into the center of the maze, seeing Null looking, he guessed, right at him.
The moment he entered, the bushes expanded filling in the exits. "What?" Alec said. He'd never seen something like this before. Was it Null's doing? He killed with a touch, how could he do this?
"Confused, Alec?" Null said, and placed his hand on the ground. The ground around them started to fall away, until Alec was standing on a lone piece of Earth he barely fit on, and Null was standing on thin air. Far beneath them, where the ground had fallen, was a pit of lava.
The bushes changed, and it became the Brotherhood building, one of the rooms, except for the floor. The ceiling was low, to low for him to get off his little spot.
"How are you doing this!?" Alec shouted, firing a shot at Null that passed straight through him. He vanished, and a second appeared a few feet away.
"All these long years Alec, and you were never curious to my true identity. All you ever cared about was whether or not I did what you told me." He reached up and pulled the top off his cloak. Underneath was the toned body of a middle aged man, covered in scars. He reached up and pulled off his mask. His left eye was green, cloudy almost from blindness. The right was blue, the cloudyness still there. His hair was dyed jet black. But Alec knew the other features all to well.
Cold fear ran through him. That wasn't possible. He was dead. Executed years ago. It. Was. Not. Possible.
"Oh, I'm very much alive Alec. And don't bother trying to force me out of your head. I've been embedded there for three long years Alec. In the short time you have, you can't force me out."
"N... no... you're dead. I saw your sentence, saw the news report about your execution."
"Just like you see the lava, and the brotherhood house?" He raised the old knife and started moving toward Alec.
Alec was completely frozen with fear. It was not possible. The man, if he could be called that, that had haunted his nightmares since the old days. He thought he'd seen the last of him. It wasn't possible.
Null raised the knife, "Goodbye Alec. I would kill you quickly, but we both know that isn't possible."
Alec's body suddenly felt like it was going to burst. Every pain receptor in his entire body felt like it was ready to explode. It was more intense pain than anything he'd ever felt, so powerful he couldn't even scream. He managed one word before his heart couldn't take the pain anymore and gave out. "C... ha... os."
((OOC Alright, so the illusions that Null reveals will be visible to everyone watching the fight, but we'll make it so that they aren't blocked out by anything, and they can still see what's going on. So no ceiling on the final illusion.... In your post you can post that you were in the full thing, just for the fight, whatever. For those of you that don't know, this is Chaos. The profile's not great, but you can get the point. And I got Angel's permission to GM Null ))
